WIMBLEDON, England — Madison Keys is unbeaten at Wimbledon.
Sure, it's only two matches, but it's a pretty good start for the 18-year-old American.
DAY 4: Serena moves on to Round 3
Keys breezed into the third round at the All England Club with a 6-4, 6-2 victory Wednesday against No. 30 Mona Barthel of Germany.
Keys once again impressed with her big serve and big groundstrokes.
DAY 3: Wild Wednesday at Wimbledon
So, is Keys now a grass-court specialist?
"I wouldn't go that far, " she said. "But I definitely like the surface.
"I just like how big serves and big forehands are rewarded. ... For me, I feel like I can come to the net a little bit more comfortably than on other surfaces."
Currently ranked a career-high No. 52, Keys stands to move ever higher the longer she hangs around at Wimbledon.
It's the second time in the past three Grand Slam tournaments that Keys has made it to the third round. She lost at that stage at the Australian Open in January.
Bidding to reach the round of 16 for the first time at a major championship, Keys will face 2012 Wimbledon runner-up Agnieszka Radwanska, who defeated Mathilde Johansson 6-3, 6-1.
